Postings of my various and sundry attempts at something like art
Another floral bouquet, experimenting with digital watercolor.
See my post details here.
I was watching another tutorial video by James Julier on sea sunsets . I was inspired to make my own, based on an old photo — I can’t place exactly where the original was, but it was a rocky beach, somewhere on the west coast near Santa Cruz. The project post gives more info and intermediate steps.
I watched and followed part of a tutorial on YouTube, from James Julier, on painting a digital landscape of trees with mountains in background. I departed from the tutorial partway through, but still a good time. https://www.notion.so/tamouse/James-Julier-landscape-tutorial-6fe9dc3b66c34b238e7d7e00973a619b
I took some photos of some pretty flowers near my PT facility. Turns out they were Stella D’oro blossoms. I did this all day yesterday, I really like how it turned out. The blog entry for this is https://tamouse.notion.site/Stella-D-oro-9a9c0e47b361484a90949bb40a5cc7d3 .
This was something I did a couple years ago. One of my early explorations of digital art, this felt like using markers rather than watercolour painting, which is fine. Find the project blog entry at https://www.notion.so/tamouse/Rainy-SF-Street-c5623aec18194cad90a45b269b186825
Following some advice, I’ve embarked on a study of lighthouses, because I love them so much as visual objects in interesting settings.
The lighthouse source image I found on Unsplash. Thanks to James Peacock @jimmyp9751 for making this photo available freely on Unsplash 🎁
Please see my notion project page for more information on this study.
Doing things a little differently this time. Instead of writing my blog post here, I wrote it using Notion.so.
For the new year, I am trying to do some art making every day. Today I wanted to work on some watercolours, but my hands were so cold, I couldn’t hold a brush very effectively.
Instead, I went to the iPad, and was able to do stuff under the covers.
